Below are 19 competitions for you to pursue, and hopefully Win Big!!

1) BP Portrait award  – Open to anyone over 18years old

Call for Entries closing date: 26 January 2017

The work entered must be predominantly painted in oil, tempera or acrylic and must be on a stretcher or board, preferably framed and unglazed.

No watercolours, works on paper or pastels will be considered.

2) Young Package 2017

Design a package you would like to play with. Create an interactive package box and prove that even protective packaging can be fun.

Deadline: 24th March 2017

Who may enter: The competition is open to students and young designers up to 30 years of age.

3) The Book Illustration Competition

Deadline: 16/01/2017

The Book Illustration Competition is a unique partnership between House of Illustration and The Folio Society that seeks to identify and promote new talent in illustration. The competition is open to illustrators over the age of 18, both student and professional, who have not been previously published by The Folio Society

4) “Re-Animate Europe” International Comic Competition 2017

Deadline: 5th February 2017

Entry fee: FREE

5) The 3rd Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize

Deadline: 15th January 2017

Who may enter: – The competition is open to artists anywhere in the world. There are no restrictions based on age, training or nationality. A maximum of 5 artworks per artist may be entered into the competition. Paintings, drawings, original prints, photography, sculptures, digitally produced artworks and mixed media constructions are accepted. Video art, sound art and the moving image are not accepted in this competition.

Entry fee: £20 for first artwork, then £10 per additional artwork.

6) International Silent Book Contest 2017

Deadline: 31st January 2017

Who may enter: The contest is open to all authors, illustrators and artists, with new and unpublished book projects, of any nationality, place of birth or residence, provided that they are over the age of 18 on December 31st 2016.

7) International Reggae Poster Contest 2016

Deadline:  January 31, 2017

The International Reggae Poster Contest announces its 5th annual call for entries for social communication reggae poster designs. The goal is simple: create a poster about Reggae Music – the rest is up to your imagination. Feel free to explore topics of Reggae covering any one of the genres. In addition, incorporate the contest theme as part of the poster design.

Theme of the 2016 edition: Toward a Reggae Hall of Fame, Celebrating Great Jamaican Music.

The contest is also an opportunity to raise funds to support the amazing work of a historic and wonderful Jamaican institution, the Alpha Boys’ School. The Alpha Boys’ School is a jewel in the centre of Kingston, and it shines all over Jamaica and, through its graduates, in the music they create, throughout the world.

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility: Open to designers all over the world.

8) SEGD Global Design Awards 2017

Deadline:  February 14, 2017  (72 days left)

Since 1987, the SEGD Global Design Awards have set the standard of excellence for environmental graphic design and experiential graphic design,honouring design work that connects people to place by providing direction, content, and compelling experiences in public spaces

There are seven main categories:

  • Digital Experience

  • Interactive Experience
  • Placemaking and Identity
  • Public Installation
  • Strategy/Research/Planning
  • Wayfinding


Open worldwide to: Environmental graphic designers, Graphic artists, Architects, Exhibit designers, Media developers, Landscape architects, Industrial designers, Interior designers, Fabricators, Clients and Students.

Student work is defined as work done in 2015 or 2016 by full-time students enrolled in a recognised design program

9) LensCulture Exposure Awards 2017

Deadline:  December 20, 2016  (16 days left)

The LensCulture Exposure Awards 2017 aim to discover and showcase the world’s best contemporary photographers, including all genres of photography, and from diverse cultures on every continent. Now in its 8th year, the competition will help photographers of all levels gain global recognition and move forward creatively and professionally.

10) RSA Student Design Awards 2017 Competition

Deadline:  March 8, 2017  (94 days left)

Now in its 93rd year, the RSA Student Design Awards challenges emerging designers worldwide to tackle pressing social, environmental and economic issues through design thinking

The twelve briefs address important social, environmental and economic issues:

Submissions are accepted from both individuals and teams. Some projects may be more suited to teamwork than others. There is no set number of people that can be part of a team, but generally team entries comprise 2 or 3 people.

Eligibility: – Open to students and new graduates worldwide. Candidates may be undergraduate or postgraduate engaged on courses at a college or university, or those who graduated no earlier than March 2017.

11) New York Festivals 2017 Torch Awards

Deadline:  February 17, 2017  (75 days left)

New York Festivals is committed to the development and promotion of the next generation of creative talent, and in this spirit created the Torch Awards. Each year, they’ll present a new competition for 18-27 years olds that explores a creative challenge with real-world potential.

This year’s challenge is Integrated-Mixed Media Challenge.

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility: – All entrants must be at least age 18 by May 17, 2017, but not older than 27.

12) Visible White Photo Prize 2017 Competition

Deadline:  February 28, 2017  

Visible White Photo Prize was founded to support international photographers who engage creatively with what is moving personal, social and political issues today.

This edition invites artists to reflect on the theme “In Conflict”. New manias collide nations and peoples in an ever more forceful social and political potential for conflict, with unforeseen effects on personal and public behaviour.

Eligibility: – Open worldwide to all photographers and artists using photography, regardless of age, sex, experience, occupation or geographic location

13) Future of Money Design Award 2017

Deadline:  March 1, 2017

Running since 2009 and created to develop links between the financial industry and creative practitioners from around the world, this year the Future of Money Design Award invites artists and designers to imagine a counterfactual scenario from the history of money that reimagines how money could have developed if things had gone differently.

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility: – Open to everyone worldwide.

14) ZEISS Photography Award 2017

Deadline:  February 7, 2017  (65 days left)

The World Photography Organisation and ZEISS are pleased to launch the second edition of the ZEISS Photography Award.

theme for this year is Meaningful places.

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility: Open to all photographers worldwide over 18.

15) The Nikon Photo Contest

It has been held by Nikon Corporation since 1969 to provide an opportunity for photographers around the world to communicate and to enrich image-making culture for professionals and amateurs alike.

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility: – Open to all, professional and amateur, regardless of age, sex or nationality.

16) Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year

Deadline:  February 5, 2017 

an international contest inspired by the proliferation of wonderful food photography in a huge variety of applications. From eye-catching advertising hoardings, to sumptuous editorial features, from tempting food packaging to daily blogs. The Awards celebrate this magnificent diversity in what is truly, the stuff of life.

The competition is open to professional and amateur

17) Fine Art Photography Awards 2017

Deadline:  February 19, 2017

It can be spontaneous, but it can also be a conscious and deliberate manifesto. Fine Art Photography Awards is searching for photos born out of passion.

There are two main section:

  • Professional
  • Amateur
